Moments: Behind the Scenes at BOLTBOLT’s Grand Opening

From hidden bananas to bass-thumping speakers — a closer look at how our grand opening night came together.

Thank You for Making It Unforgettable

Last Saturday, June 28, we opened the doors to BOLTBOLT (Gallery) for the first time — and over 200 friends, collectors, artists, and design lovers joined us in LA’s Arts District to celebrate where art collides with technology.

Here’s a closer look at how we made it all happen — from a hidden banana to the sound, scent, and objects that shaped an immersive night to remember.

🍌 The Banana Campaign: Hiding Delight in Plain Sight

When Speaker David was designed, every detail was designed to be unexpected. Instead of a typical remote control, we gave it a banana-shaped remote — a playful nod to our belief that tech should surprise you.

For the opening, we turned that surprise into a real-life hunt. We hid the banana remote among real bananas stacked throughout the gallery — and gave every guest one chance to pick the real one.

If they chose correctly, they found the remote and won a surprise gift. If not? They took home an actual banana. Simple, cheeky, and exactly our kind of fun.

This small moment reminded everyone that great design isn’t just functional — it makes you look twice, smile, and tell your friends about it.

🔊 Crafting an Immersive Sound Experience

Throughout the night, Speaker David was the heartbeat of the room — the DJ’s best friend and the absolute party center.

We turned it up, letting its powerful mid to low bass fill the gallery with warmth and clarity that made every conversation and beat feel premium. It wasn’t just background music — Speaker David carried the energy forward, proving how high-fidelity sound can transform any gathering into something magnetic.

⌨️ Hitting Thock: Angry Miao Draws a Crowd

Next to the sound, our friends at Angry Miao brought an experience for the true geeks — a table full of mechanical keyboards, switches, and fresh designs to test in person.

People gathered around, tapping every switch, feeling each thock, and swapping notes like kids at a playground — only this playground came with RGB lights and premium caps. It gave the Angry Miao community a rare offline moment to connect, and introduced a whole new crowd to why keyboards can be an art form too.

🗿 Collectibles & Visionary Pieces

Beyond the sound and keys, the space was filled with boundary-pushing works — archived editions by Daniel Arsham, futuristic robotic sculptures, and one-of-a-kind collectibles from brands and artists at the forefront of experimental design and culture.

Each piece was chosen to show how BOLTBOLT (Gallery) isn’t just a store — it’s a living collection where innovation, storytelling, and play come together under one roof.

🕯️ Soapmen: A Scented Signature

To complete the experience, our partners at Soapmen curated a subtle layer of scent and candles throughout the gallery. The fragrance lingered as guests explored — proof that design doesn’t stop at what you see or hear. It lives in what you feel, breathe in, and remember long after you walk out the door.

This Is Just the Beginning

From a hidden banana to the deep bass of Speaker David, from the click of mechanical keyboards to the calm of a perfect scent — our opening night was a blueprint for what BOLTBOLT stands for: design that elevates everyday life.

We’ve never tried to put BOLTBOLT in a box. We believe in the magic of the in-between. BOLTBOLT exists at the intersection of art and technology — where form meets function, and emotion meets innovation.

Whether it’s a better way to listen, charge, game, travel, unwind, or simply enjoy the scent of your space — we create and curate pieces that uplift everyday interactions.

Big moments or small, we hope to be part of yours.
